Training
Tell workers about the hazards associated with their work and how to recognise early signs of lung damage and dermatitis from exposure to RCS.
Only authorised and appropriately trained people should access the work area.
Workers should be trained on:
- how to check RPE is working properly before every use, how to fit it properly and how to look after it
- when and how to use controls
- how to check controls are working
- what to do if something goes wrong
Management and supervision
Involve managers and supervisors in health and safety training.
Supervisors should ensure that controls are used and safe work procedures are followed.
Keep a record
Training records are helpful to demonstrate what information, instruction and training has been provided.
